Hi friends! I’m putting together a side stage show at The Shop on Friday, May 29th, and I’m looking for a few performers who love big character work, strong POVs, and committing hard to the bit! The show: Character Cannon: Real Talk with Fake People A semi-improvised character talk show where I play a grounded, sincere host interviewing a lineup of fully committed, deeply unhinged characters. Think Comedy Bang! Bang! meets Inside the Actors Studio meets Very Important People. What I’m looking for: Folks interested in character-driven comedy Big or specific characters with a clear worldview People who are comfortable staying in character for at least 15-20 minutes Costume-friendly (nothing elaborate required, just a visual anchor) More on the vibe: Absurd but grounded Playful, supportive, and collaborative Characters are lightly pre-planned (you come in with a POV), and interviews are improvised Commitment: Low-pressure, one-off show (with the possibility of recurring if it clicks). We'll do a short pre-show huddle to get aligned, and maybe a few rehearsals/practices, but TBD.
