Magic Ratio consisted of players from The Improv Shop's very first class cohort. They started classes in 2009 and completed in 2010 at which point they started performing regularly.
From The Improv Shop's website circa 2012:
"Magic Ratio. They are the people that started it all. In October of 2009, the team that would eventually become Magic Ratio started Level 1 classes at Washington University, eventually moving to a strange, abandoned office space in Maplewood. The Improv Shop wasn't even named yet. Meeting weekly for a year, they trusted each other (by making awkward sustained eye contact), made one another laugh (usually via dick jokes), farted on each other (at least once), and listened patiently to rambling Kurt Vonnegut quotes (over and over again). Playing, laughing, and goofing around together quickly morphed Michael Fitzgerald, David Imler, Ranjan Khan, Stephanie Kozikowski, Han Lim, Katy Paul, Melanie Penn, and Stephen Smith into best friends. Magic Ratio, and their dark, mysterious, and often blood thirsty, alter ego Murder Patio, currently perform the Harold form."
